It was revealed in the papers recently that the British Government may consider re-introducing visa for Malaysians as a result of the increase in its abuse by some unscrupulous Malaysians over-staying there and working without proper documents.Well, I must admit that I'm disappointed too with this soon-to-be made ruling (unless the Malaysian Government intervenes which they're trying already) because I've been there many times in the past and loved it. But consider this: don't the Malaysian take action on illegals in their own backyard by arresting, detentioning and deporting these illegals? Do they impose visas?Britain imposed visa on Malaysian in the past before relaxing it a bit. But when some of them began abusing this privilege, the British had to do something, right? So, although most Malaysians are innocent the fact remains that others are not and the British has had enough, I suppose. So, why does the Malaysian Goverment need to interfere in the affairs of their UK counterparts? Didn't they warn Washington recently 'not to meddle' in Malaysian internal affairs and policies? If the British need to re-impose visa, why should Malaysia complain and whine? Are they helping the British take stern action agains their their citizens who abused the visa apps?I don't think so.
So, Mr. Anwar didn't turn up on Monday for questioning by the police.Today, he's arrested. But the strange thing is that he's escorted to the police headquarters by a dozen police cars as if he's some sort of terrorist. But he did the right thing by not turning up on Monday because the next day (yesterday), he was to participate in a debate with th Government on the fuel hike.If he did turn up on Monday, he would not have been able to debate.Clever, isn't it?
Again Roger Federer wasted his chance. This time its Wimbledon.I honestly dunno whats wrong with him. French Open was a disaster but thats understandable coz he's notso good on clay. But Wimbledon grass court???This is becoming unusually strange. Either Federer has some sort of real injury which he hadn't disclosed or he's just not interested in the game anymore, or there's some fixing going on somewhere. Look at the women's side. Almost all the top 10 female players were wiped out even before the quarter finals. Look at Ana, the French Open champion, even Maria. Or worse still, the fans/spectators of tennis are fed up that Roger is winning all the time, so thats why he's purposely not playing well or was asked to do so.This reminds me of Michael Shumacher. Because he was winning many, many races, and fans of F1 became fed up, F1 decided to change some rules such as giving two additional points spot to the usual six places. But this is tennis. You can't change the rules for tennis like how motorsports does.As for Nadal, its very, very surprising that he won Wimbledon. He's never won on grass and now, all of a sudden, he won on grass. Either he's improving on this surface or there's something fishy going on. I remember reading in the papers sometime ago that he said he was having pain in his legs or arm (dunno which). But it doesn't seem like that now, does it?Coming back to Roger, if you're not interested in the game, then it would be good if you retired as world No. 1. Like how Justine Henin did. I'm also doubtful Federer would even want to win the US Open. This is becoming soooo ridiculous, man!!I'm one hell of a disappointed fella, Roger!!!(Note: The above are just my thoughts on Wimbledon 2008. They're all my own assumptions.)
